Family Portraits

Jackson drew these pictures on the inside of cardboard box a while back. The first picture is of Shaun, Harrison and I. The second is of Jackson alone. When I told him that I wanted to take a picture of them to put on the computer, he said, "Let me warn you. I made us naked." My first born is a character.

Things have been super busy around here. And I have been super tired. Not only am I rarely on the computer, I am rarely taking pictures. If I have to choose between sleep and blogging, sleep wins. Let's just say, sleep wins over anything these days. So, the posts will be further apart and the pictures less interesting, but that does not mean that life here is any less exciting.

I heard Brene (http://www.brenebrown.com/) speak today. She talked about the ordinary moments in our lives. It made me think of those moments in my life. The moments where I am trying to do my make-up with a kid in my lap, the water on the floor moments while they splash in the bath, the "sit in your chair" moments during dinner and the reading books moments. Those are what life is made of. They are also what makes me so tired and probably what I will miss most as the boys grow up. Treasure the ordinary moments in your life.

BTW - if there are any budding Art Therapists out there....please don't tell me that I have already screwed Jackson up. I have to believe that I am off to a good start. And he must have pretty good self esteem if he gets a whole side of the box to himself.

Sorry about the wierd "centering" of the typing, I couldnt figure out how to delete it and I need to get going.

Dawn...ordinary moments are the best. i loved them when it was just me and Jason (reading the paper at a cafe) and now that we have Lila (playing with her new blocks on the floor in the middle of a very messy living room)! This post made me miss you, because some of best ordinary moments have been with my friend Dawn! Love you!
