Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all.
The past few days have been great. Lots of time spent with friends, out doors and just being together. We had a party yesterday and Jackson can now ride his bike without training wheels! An adult only dinner last night (thanks Vanna and Dom) and today, 2 naps, a nice long family walk and dinner at the olive garden.
Getting ready for bed now (10:28pm) and overall this has been a great new years eve...I wont be staying up till midnight that's for sure.
P.S. I had to include this pic of my grandma (she's 92). I love that we got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with her and all our our family.
We are so lucky!

Merry Christmas

Every year since Jackson was born we have taken pictures with this Santa. Well, just because there are three boys now, we had to continue with the tradition. Happy Holidays everyone.

the latest

Here is a mini update. Jackson was a cute indian at school named Pokey (he picked that name himself). Max loves the sling and falls right asleep in it. Harrsion is a little toot and cute, fun and edible. Jackson had a brownie sale last weekend. The setup, sign, etc. are all his. He even got a few customers. I'm looking forward to time off with my boys...I just wish I could keep my house picked up too!

The Boys and our weekend

These were taken this summer. But they were easily accessed and if you want a blog update, you cant be picky :) (same goes for this crazy underlining...ugh!)

We had a great weekend. My mom and dad took Jackson to fiesta Texas to look at the lights, and spend the night Saturday. So Sunday morning Harrison and I, just the two of us, went to the zoo. It was so fun to just be with him. Then Sunday night Jackson and I went to see the Lion King....it was amazing. Really amazing.
Have a great week!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

I know it is the holiday season when we make our yearly trip to Gruene to see Kris Kringle.I had no idea last year (really, no idea at all) that one year later we would be taking 3 boys to see Santa. Yesterday we did just that! It was fun and we survived with all the boys. Jackson told Santa he wanted a whistle and Harrison asked for a piano. Don't ask...

All three even did great at the Grist Mill for lunch. Take a closer look at the picture above to see Max's face. He was not too happy.

As all our shirts say, "Life is Good."

You're breakin' my brain

Jackson's class did great at school so he got to have a crazy hair day. He asked for a mohawk. This was the best I could do. At one point he told me, "ouch mama, you're breakin' my brain!"
Beauty hurts baby!

look at that lip at 2 months old

Yep, he has already been here for 2 months. Most of the time he is either eating , sleeping or like this last photo. Yet, he periods of wakefulness are more and more lately. Baby Max is even starting to smile. I'll try to take some better pics of him soon, but as this photos show, it is very hard.

We are having a super hard time with Harrison right now. So, tonight I asked Jackson, "Why do you think Harrison is being so difficult today?" He said,
"Well, it's because he is filled with these wild things and because it rained today he wasn't able to go outside and get all those wild things out. " You know what, he may be right.

Jackson on the other hand has been amazing. We even had his teacher conference last week and she said nothing but great things about him. Yippee!

Now the are scary

Last year I had a cute spiderman and an elephant. Now they need to be scary. Jackson was a vampire and Harrison was a skeleton (less scary and more cute, I think). Maimie came over to help us trick or treat. Baby Max stayed in his sling the whole time and did great. It was fun for all. Is anyone else stealing a piece of candy a day from their kids?

Flooding

We had flooding in our house this weekend. 3 rooms were affected and our master bedroom furniture has been moved to our living room. I'm trying to tell myself that it is kind of like camping but I am at home, sleeping on a mattress on the floor. I just would never take my newborn camping.
So, these three people (and Tino the great & Jason - so glad you moved back to Texas) were very helpful in a time of crisis. My dad was at our house within an hour of the flooding to help move furniture, my mom was ready at her house for the tornado of me and 3 boys arriving suddenly and Penny came over to direct furniture moving, do laundry, clean the kitchen and put my house back in order. I am so grateful to have these people in my life. And today, Vina (lovely Yvette's mom) is bringing me King Ranch Chicken for dinner.
And Shaun will will remain my main man because he did so great at not only "taking care of business" he kept a smile on his face and took all his "workers" to lunch.
Yes, there is nothing to be sad or angry about because when you have people that love you, you have it all.

Baby Max is here!

Well, our 9.4 pound little bundle of joy has arrived. He made his debut on 09/09/09 at 9:22 am and was 21.5 inches long. He had a few health issues and stayed in the NICU for 4 days, but we are all home now. My delivery wasn't too bad. In fact, I was texting people to keep them up with what was happening. The texts went like this:
8:09 am "I just got the epidural, and I am 6 centimeters, should happen sometime this morning".
8:57 am "I am 9 centimeters"
9:40 am "He is here!"

Here are some pictures, because I hear someone begging to be fed!
* a special thanks to Melody at Rockin' A photography for all her great shots!!

jackson gets the news...part 2

Here is Jackson again, trying to understand about the new baby. Little did we know at the time that he was right about his prediction that it was a boy. He just cant seem to "wrap his mind" around the fact that the baby in the sonogram is not him or his brother. Now he seems pretty thrilled about it all.

The plan is to have this little boy, Max, in 3 days on Wednesday, 09/09/09. Wish me luck. My blog widget is off by four days, so we are really only having him about 8 days early. But if you were as uncomfortable as me, you'd wonder how I made it this long.

I am looking forward to this next step in our lives and wondering just how great it is gonna be.

Is Jackson ready to be a big brother...again?

I have been trying to upload this video for months. I think it finally worked!! I'm so happy. I took this video when I was about 12 weeks pregnant and we were telling Jackson. I think Jackson's reaction is pretty funny. But the friends I have showed it to, think Shaun if funny too. Let me know if you laughed.

5 Already?

How did the past 5 years just fly by? I heard other moms talk about, but I had no idea. Yes, Jackson starts Kindergarten tomorrow. I cant believe it. I'll let you know how it goes. Send us happy thoughts on this and the many other transitions we have coming up quickly.

Harrison's had it tough!

This little guy has had a rough couple of weeks. First he was face planted into the dirt by his brother and lost a baby tooth. Then he was trying to follow his brother up the huge slide at the gym and fell - biting through his bottom lip (no stitches needed) and then a week ago today he got a huge goose egg on his forehead right between his eyes. Then Friday he placed four of his fingers on a hot stove burner. I mean, he is having weekly injuries. I just need to be super grateful that there has been nothing major and that he is so easy going and resilient.

Work started today and boy was it tough to be back. I love my job but I really love summer too. I cant believe little Max will be here in just 30 or so days. I am really looking forward to meeting him. It is strange to have someone you been taking care of for 9 months that you haven't met yet...motherhood is weird that way.

New Hats

We got these cute hats for the boys on my birthday this year. I think they are so fun. Harrison's hat reminds me of an old man smoking a cigar and playing cards. Jackson's hat just makes him look older.
Harrison has really entered the terrible 2s. He is stubborn, hitting, making messes and running from me. Sounds like he is right on target! But this 32 week old preggo is having a hard time with keeping up and my patience is being taken by little baby Max.
After this week we only have 2 weeks until we go back to work.... guess I am as ready as I will ever be.
Shaun has accomplished so much around the house this summer. He has made a drum room in the garage and painted what will be Harrison's new big boy room, moved our office furniture, hung curtains and put together a twin bed for Harrison.
Wish us luck on the big boy bed transition.
Can you believe this is our 36 day in a row of weather above 100 degrees? Is this related to my friends using some much aqua net in the 80's and ruining the ozone? I wont admit that I contributed to it.

Jacksonisms

"Mama, when the baby comes can we have a 'Hatch Day' party?"

After spending the day taking care of my parent's dog, he walked around with his tongue hanging out of his mouth, "I'm just trying to keep myself cool!"

"You can have my leftover, cold toast; because you're my best mama."

Gotta love the logic of a 5 year old!
