harrison

Can this kid get much cuter? I don't think so - it breaks my heart sometimes to look at him. Other mothers know what I mean. I hate that I have to leave him while I work. He is just edible!

90th b-day

Gigi (as Jackson calls her) or my Grandma Bear turned 90 last month. We had a big party for her and it was wonderful. I called her Grandma Bear for years because she and my grandpa would always crawl around on the floor with me and pretend we were a bear family. The end of the video is Jackson singing what he learned this summer in vacation bible school. Hope everyone gets back to school with a smile on their faces.

End of Summer

It's over. I am back to work. My heart hurts because I miss the boys. No more mornings pushing two kids in a double stroller, naps, coffee in a mug (not the travel kind) with Shaun, taking a camera with me everywhere I go, lunch with the boys, games of Candy Land and Hi Ho Cherry in the middle of the day, wet swim suits around the house, and emptying the dishwasher with a baby on my hip. It is always bad to end your summer, but even worse to start work on a negative note. Looking for my work mojo....
I'm so bummed about summer ending that I have the nerve to post myself in a swimsuit on the blog. Now that takes courage.
I feel like being a Negative Nelly right now and sharing lots of complaints. But I will restrain myself and hit "post."

Thank you Melody

Everyone (I mean I have not stopped talking about it) knows how excited I was to have Melody take our pictures today. Now you know why. After 17 years together and 10 years married, she made us look pretty good. This is my preview. I can't wait to see how the little guys looked. Summer is over for the Hedgepeths - ugh! I think having Melody take our picture on our last "official summer weekend" and Harrison's 15 month b-day was a great way to finish out the summer.
Contact Melody if you live in the San Antonio area and want great, creative, truly lovely shots of your family. I have never worked with a better photographer. She is living out one of my dreams of being a photographer. If I was meant to be a social worker - she was meant to be a photographer.
Thanks again Melody, we were LUCKY to get to spend our last summer Saturday morning with you!

Make new friends...

"Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the other is gold"

Any other girl scouts remember that song? I do and it is true.
I love this shot of us - we graduated 20 years ago. UGH....but we do look better now then we did in 1988.
The only bad part of this photo is that Vanna and Nancy are missing.

too sexy too soon

I have been concerned about our media for years. I see it's impact on teens in my work daily. Read the attached or at least watch the video. It is important for all parents.
